2:00 PM - 2:20 PM

Promotional description

Keryn is a well-known and respected Human Factors professional within the Rail Industry. In her previous role, Keryn was responsible for integrating Human Factors within Queensland Rail. Currently, she is Human Factors lead for Rail, Integration and Systems package for Cross River Rail. Keryn will discuss how we can ensure that systems are designed with end users (from passengers to station staff, train drivers, network controllers, and maintainers) in mind. She will focus on the challenges of introducing new systems and tasks to an existing job force and how we can ensure that the system is designed for the people who use it.

This presentation will be a key insight into how the industry applies organisational psychology concepts to the design of systems.

Learning outcomes

Attendees will:
- Develop an understanding of how consideration of the end user can ensure good system design
- Understand some of the difficulty of conducting research within the constraints of a major project
