Collaborative robots supporting safety and wellbeing for the blue-collar workforce

10:55 AM - 11:15 AM

Promotional description

De-risk technology adoption in workplaces by understanding end-user perspectives. The science of human factors and ergonomics (HFE) applies systems thinking to real-world problems where the person is considered one of the most critical parts of the system. HFE takes a holistic approach where the person, task, tool/technology and environment all interact to influence performance. To optimise employee productivity and wellbeing, management should not merely focus on changing the person to fit the job but seek to improve processes, policies, job design and other system components.

Learning outcomes

At the conclusion of this event attendees will be able to:

Remember what a collaborative robot is and what tools are available to assess end-user perspectives;

Identify key considerations when implementing a new technology into the workforce;

Understand key principles associated with human factors, good job design and technology acceptance (and why they are important).
