“Own It” – An organisational culture change program

11:45 AM - 12:45 PM

Promotional description

“Imagine what we could achieve for our members, if all our people felt empowered to own their decisions, and supported when they stumble along the way?” This was the elevator pitch for the “Own It” culture change program at this member-owned organisation of 2,500 employees. The problem identified was the need to enhance psychological safety to empower decision-making and reduce directive leadership. The bespoke solution was a 4-month long culture intervention aimed at every tier in the business. The organisation is renowned for its workplace culture and has long since become an employer of choice by purposefully working to enhance its cultural challenges. Come along to hear from an Award-winning, experienced practitioner how to apply psychological best practice and behavioural economics to design a bespoke culture program – start to finish. This session uses the example of the “Own It” culture program to unpack each stage in the process, from diagnosis, to intervention design, and through to evaluation - rich with practical, cost-effective examples that can be adapted to suit any organisation.

Learning outcomes

At the conclusion of this event, attendees will be able to:
* Apply familiar social psychology and behavioural economics principles to design bespoke behaviour change programs in organisations
* Understand the pros and cons of different diagnostic methods to assess organisational culture and how to integrate them
* Analyse various data sources to identify culture challenges and formulate cultural goals
* Draw from diagnostic insights to create bespoke interventions to influence employees’ beliefs and behaviours at scale
* Hear practical examples to help them create tangible, pragmatic culture change activities for their own organisation/clients
* Learn how to evaluate culture programs to identify if behaviour change was achieved
