Human apropos digital organisational design

1:55 PM - 2:15 PM

Promotional description

Consider why we are facing what some call ‘the great resignation’ or a global ‘skills crisis’ and let’s do something about it together, to create what could be called the great retention or skills and development growth. Industry 5.0 and beyond can be our time to create effective work design that enhances how we use technology that is simultaneously compatible to humans.
Simply deploying a new technology that promises performance and value without considering the human that is expected to assist in achieving the promised result is no longer acceptable.
Poorly integrated systems, ill-considered risk assessments excluding psychological and psychosocial risks and inadequate training and personnel development are inexcusable. Human factors and good work design need to be at the forefront of any opportunity assessment and budgeting and continuously focused on through any deployment lifecycle.
The time is now to be supporting culture, development and wellbeing, and that doesn’t mean just providing a fruit bowl and monthly BBQ.

Learning outcomes

This presentation will call on you to consider how you or your organisation are managing human factors in a digital era, including phycological and psychosocial risks.
You may be briefly uncomfortable; you may have already considered many of the discussion points, but hopefully you will walk away with a challenge to do more, to do it differently and to do it better.

Peta is currently developing a digital platform under the banner PETEC (people before technology) utilising theories of motivation and gamification elements to provide an interactive platform that allows employees to take control of their career development pathways and improve safety and mental health and wellbeing.
