Assessment and treatment a six year old boy with post traumatic stress disorder in a primary school setting
3:00 PM - 3:20 PMAbstract
When referral to an external provider, of a six year old boy suffering post traumatic stress disorder, was not possible assessment and treatment was conducted within the school setting. Psychological intervention was provided to the boy and his mother in coordination with speech pathology and occupational therapy interventions. This case highlights the range of difficulties practitioners must negotiate to provide targeted interventions for children and support to the systems in which they live.
