Posters, cartoons, caricatures and social action: creating art for social protest
11:15 AM - 12:15 PMAbstract
Visual images are powerful ways of communicating ideas, constructs and demands for change. Communication of research findings, ideas, discussion points can be more powerfully presented using artistic methods.
This presentation will include images, cartoons, caricatures and posters that have been part of historical and contemporary changes in social policy and change. This will be a workshop presentation giving participants the opportunity to create their own cartoons and other visual presentations of their ideas. Paper and art materials will be provided to participants to create their own cartoons, caricatures and art to illustrate their own social action projects.
