In March 2019, one of my younger brothers suddenly passed away, leaving his family immobilised by grief. As a way of both finding my way back and keeping my brother with me, I embarked on a series of walks and long runs, mostly along the Birrarung River. The engagement with place became both a personal obsession and a force of healing during a time of personal grief and the mourning for the attacks on Aboriginal country past and present.
