Incorporating Virtual and Augmented Reality Technologies into the Practice of Health Psychology
11:00 AM - 3:00 PMBiography
Les Posen is currently in the fulltime independent practice of clinical psychology. When he’s not working directly with patients, specialising in anxiety and health disorders, he teaches psychologists about how best to understand employ technologies in their practices. He has previously written technology-based columns for the APS InPsych periodical, and employs cutting edge technologies in his own professional practice, so does both the talk and the walk. He is likely the first Australian psychologist to employ Virtual Reality in applied practice, commencing in 2001. He has attended and presented workshops on the subject at Stanford and Cedars-Sinai (LA), and been part of a Telehealth all day workshop for the APA in Washington DC. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience Les’ methods in workshop presentation skills, for which he has trained CEOs, lawyers, mental health practitioners and presented to the Apple Keynote software team in Pittsburgh.
