Frontotemporal dementia patients demonstrate a profound inability to engage in flexible thought processes. This presentation will outline the difficulties these patients experience in thinking creatively, generating solutions to problems, and imagining new experiences as well as considering the impact of these impairments on their day-to-day functioning. The potential to extend these findings into other clinical populations known to experience rigid thinking will be discussed.
