Biography

My name is Bianca Bennett. I lead the psychology team at St Joseph’s College “Joeys” and run a private practice. I have worked in Workers Compensation, FACS – ADHC, NSW-DET. I am an FDRP/Mediator providing consultation to legal firms and individuals. Eight years in schools, I work with young people, families teachers and learning and support educators. I have written a number of programs young people along with staff wellbeing. I deliver: Resourceful Adolescent Program (Adolescent and Parent); RAGE (Recognising Anger and Guilt Emotions); Youth & Teen Mental Health First Aid and Seasons for Growth In session I focus on functionality, use strategies to address, manage and resolve aspects of their life that are not serving them. Therapeutic modalities including: CBT, DBT, ACT, SFBT, narrative and schema work. I administer assessments to assist in measuring skills and abilities along with exploring, supporting or ruling out diagnosis and providing guidelines for intervention.

Biography

Holly is CEO of NorthStar Academy, offering clinical supervision and training for provisional and early career psychologists, and the CEO and Principal Psychologist of Northside Psychology, a large private practice. She is a Board Approved Supervisor, an APS SA Committee Member and has 24 years’ experience in the profession. Holly has worked in a residential unit for children, developed and facilitated training programs, lectured counselling skills and worked in occupational rehabilitation. Passionate about treating trauma, she has worked with torture and trauma survivors and trained mental health professionals in this space. Given her diverse breadth of experience, Holly turned her attention to nurturing Psychologists. She has developed a comprehensive program for overseas trained Psychologist to complete their Transitional Program. She also developed a Graduate Program within Northside Psychology and leads NorthStar Academy to nurture clinicians to improve more lives.

Biography

2023 APS Sydney Branch Committee Member 2024 APS Emerging Leaders Program Recipient An AHPRA registered psychologist holding a BA Psych with BEd (Primary) and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology (School Counselling) as part of the NSW Department of Education (DoE) School Counsellor Scholarship Program. Previously held two Merit Scholar Research Scholarships with the Psychology Department at Macquarie University and currently undergoing publication of my postgraduate research paper merging aspects of organisational and positive psychology in the Australian school education system. I have worked internationally providing educational and psychological support to student communities in Southest Asia under the Australian Government New Colombo Plan (NCP) Scholarship scheme. Locally, I have been appointed Advisory Council Member for Raise Foundation, and mentor and advisor at Burn Bright Australia and Young Change Agents. Combined, these experiences have enabled me to enact positive change in my role as a school counsellor/psychologist since 2019, having been awarded the NSW SCPA New Practitioner of the Year for my extensive work within Western Sydney. Personally, I'm convinced that this is more than just a job; it's a true calling, and I'm excited to spend this lifetime unravelling the boundless possibilities of working as a psychologist.
