Biography

I am a Cisgender Gay Male psychologist, who started his Psychology training and career as a mature-aged student. I previously worked in both Blue- and White-collar jobs. Since starting the registration process, I have worked in various work environments, including co-facilitating a Domestic Violence group (for mandated clients) and co-facilitating an AOD group in a prison farm setting. I started my psychologist journey as a Gay man who (at that stage) had volunteered for a few decades on an LGBTIQ+ phone helpline. This resulted at about 30+ years with being rewarded with life membership of the organisation. Nowadays, I’m still volunteering there, albeit in a different role at present. I have also, from time to time written many articles for a local LGBTIQ+ newspaper/blog. In my work role, I run my own sole practitioner psychology and clinical hypnotherapy practice and am registered to provide AHPRA supervision for provisional psychologists.

Biography

I am a Registered Psychologist and owner of a private practice in Perth. I have worked as a psychologist in a range of sectors including the not-for-profit sector, private hospital, corrections and private practice. My passion for psychology developed over the years, whilst having a varied career history, spanning from flight attending to hospitality. I have always found that my colourful career has helped me to relate better to my patients in one way or another. I am passionate about working in the relationship and psychosexual space having achieved additional qualifications in this space. Becoming a Board Approved Supervisor was an important goal for me as I wanted to give to future psychologists the same guidance and support I received from my supervisors during my internship.
